Symposium on Intravenous Laser Medicine held at Medical Plaza Ortigas

Here's my thoughts on the latest symposium on Intravenous Laser Medicine (IVLT) of The Integrated Laser and Complementary Medicine held at the Board Room of Medical Plaza Ortigas building last October 5, 2014. It is their third symposium for Medical Professionals and specialist, the first one in Cebu City and the second with members of Las Pinas Medical Society

The symposium aims at creating awareness about IV Laser Therapy in the country and encouraging other medical practitioners to re-examine and have a second look at this wonderful health modality which is very popular in Eastern and Western Europe.

Though the modality is a treatment in itself, it also complements other modality such as chemotherapy, pharmacological and alternative medicines, hence it was called part of Integrative and Complementary Medicine.

According to the speaker Dr. Danilo P. Delfin, a well-known Cardiologist, we are very late and left behind for more than 40 years with this kind of light-based technology which is the Intravenous Laser Therapy. Even my two doctor guests Drs. Rosario ( an anesthesiologist and practicing Family physician)  and Alberto Magpily said that they encounter IVLT many years ago during their training and practice in Germany way back.

Mr. Rommel Santos, ILACM President and as we call him the father of Intravenous Laser Therapy in the Philippines, invested and brought this technology into  the country and came home just to attend the occasion (he was based abroad).

The ILACM Team
Cebu medical consultants and specialists Drs. Corazon B. Canete and Elena Mapula  flown in to manila from Cebu to attend the symposium and meet with the Manila office. Pasig Doctor friends of Drs. Delfin and Mejia  Drs.  Sharon Flores, Michelle Macabangun, Janet Barrocamo, who are very interested to know more about IVLT also graced the event.

Professor Melissa Dizon speaks about her IVLT Experience and

After the symposium, everyone went to the clinic at Unit 2414 for lunch, demo sessions and some fellowship with the other guests.

I am a great believer of this Intravenous Laser Medicine, and supporting this for many years now, like in Europe, I hope it will become a part of mainstream medicine our doctors can use today. There are so many applications for this modality in other areas of health, not only cardiovascular problems, but also in Neurology, Nephrology, Fertility, Inflammatory Diseases and Anti-aging as side effects. As a health and wellness advocate, this is my mission now, to make this known in the medical community and to all  Filipinos as well.

How to Make a Natural Cough Syrup KLS

Kalamansi, Luya and Sampalok

Here's a good natural remedy for cough that you can easily make at home, the KLS cough syrup or the Kalamansi-Luya-Sampalok syrup

It is done by boiling green sampalok (unripe tamarind) until soft and set aside until cool and mashed it to extract the juice with small amount of boiled water,  grate the fresh  ginger and mix it with Kalamansi juice, put it in a blender (optional) or set aside in a few minutes, then filter it with fine strainer then add some pure, raw, wild honey into the mixture to thicken it. The extract is now the KLS syrup, put it in a clean bottle and can be refrigerated when not in use (good for a week).

Take 1-3  tablespoon, three times a day before meals, shake well before using. The honey and kalamansi will help decongest and expel the mucus, while the ginger and kalamansi will sooth your throat, lungs and respiratory system.

Try it!
