Got this article about Guyabano for cancer by e-mail way back from a friend....this could be of help and the good news is that, the fruit is locally available in the Philippines...and I thought it exist only in the Philippines and have no Idea that it is also found in the Amazon Jungle ( well known for medicinal trees and herbs), but I believed all plants are medicinal in their own way, we call it GUYABANO also known as ATIS-KASTILA as our old would call it. There is however no proven local studies done yet, but maybe true, for obvious reason no drug companies will conduct studies because they will be out of business and will not make money if this is really true. Anyhow I love the fruit, it is succulent and nutritious, being an anti-cancer is a bonus, I already tasted the Tea from leaves and bark/stems of Guyabano and it tastes good as well, just like the regular tea, it is deep red in color when boiled in water so very rich in Phytochemicals, Many are going crazy now with Guyabano, even the fruit vendors already know the "secret" so they increased the prices, a friend planted many in his farm, some supplement manufacturers capsulized them and some put them in their health products as ingredients. I actually observing many cancer patients consuming Guyabano, though I haven't seen anyone who get cured dramatically, many are improved and their cancer is somewhat tamed, but those still living a stressful life even drinking guyabano tea and eating the fruits, their cancer still progress just like my Architect friend who had ovarian cancer who drink the leaves and bark tea and guyabano fruit puree. So I guess, Guyabano alone doesn't really cure, it should be combined with other healing modalities, so don't be misguided and rely on Guyabano alone. |

I have some reservations on the source of the e-mail article and as a matter of fact doubt some lines in the article, the article gave new hope, a high hope and welcoming news for all cancer patients, since there is no harm in trying we might as well try it to find out, we could get other benefits anyway, Guyabano , as all fruits are very rich in anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals and fibers. It is just frustrating to know that it failed to some degree and expectations of those who have high hope that it will cure their cancer, but it could be a supplement that could be use for nutritional support, just a word of advice, use the fresh fruit, fresh leaves and stems for tea if you can, not those in the market already that is dried, processed and capsulized.
